Vondelpark Part I & II is a composition is guided by recent development in plant bioacoustics. Plants react to vibrations, such as electromagnetic inductions, geophony or hydrophony. It seeks to speculates on the following question: What could a vegetal Umwelt sound like?
This work is an artistic response by Charles Rouleau to his conceptualization of "Speculative Sonic Ecologies", which can be broadly understood as a polyphonic listening emphasizing the plurality of non-anthropogenic listening modes.
The work focuses on listening to and with the plants. It is a question of being attuned to their way of listening. To enable a phytocentric listening means to follow the growth of a sonic becoming.

Stereo version of a quadrophonic installation presented during the exhibition "Woven in Vegetal Fabric: On Plant Becomings" at Casino Display (LU).
