When ice forms, it captures time within itself. It slows down vibrations, pressure, sounds, smells and movements. A part of the past is preserved within it: the ice becomes a kind of natural archive. In the current sociohistorical context, references to ice inevitably call to mind the climate crisis and the imminent risk of global melting. This sound piece combines recordings of the rising tide as it instantly freezes.
It was first presented at Casino Luxembourg for the 2021 Young Art Triennale of Luxembourg.
